A place to learn Japanese.

Hi, I´m heading to Japan in mars. My travel lasts just for 10 days so I cannot do all the fun, interesting and beautifull there. I would like to receive some good travell tips for my journey.

Here is my big plan:
1. Arriving in Tokio in 11th mars and staying there couple of days. Looking forward to meet modern Japan(tehchnoloy, people, transport, and city culture)
2. Travelling to some place in south of Japan. Intersted in recreation, history, vulcans and hot baths, body culture, silency and zen.
3. Finally to the north to look great views, snow.

Then returning back in Tokio and home to Finland.

I´m a finnish man celebrating my 50th birthday in mars. Wanted to travell in Japan for a long time. I prefer travelling by train(got Japan Rail pass), other travell details are still pretty open. Studied language(basics) and culture(philosophy and manga). I leave my family(wife and 3 sons) at home this time. Looking forward to interesting, experienced and fun travel tips and suggestions.

Ok there is soo much you can do try this route

Tokyo head towards Hakone - in my opinion best onsen in Japan can be found here
From Hakone - go to Osaka best food in Japan can be found here just look around (Umeda area) visit the castle at Tanimachi4chome (closest station)

From Osaka head towards Fukuoka and on the way stop at Hiroshima maybe.
Fukuoka has a good sights and foods but there is a vulcano in the area at Bappo i think it's called should look in my travellog xD there you can find great onsens aswell.

Head back to Tokyo and go abit more northern towards Sapporo or north-west towards Nigata for peace and quiet.

I did this route in less than a month spending a few days at each place

Any idea about wifi in Japan, I´m planning to bring my laptop with me?

well in tokyo you can find restaurants with wifi, all gaijin houses have internet access(wired or wifi - if you are planning on staying in one), shibuya had also free spots, mmmm akihabara.... not sure of other places i usually dont go around with my laptop but some coffe shops have wifi connection too.

also there are cyber cafe's so if you need internet you can always use one.

because of my job (wich i just quit) i didnt have too much time to know tokyo so well, but if you need i can tell/show/recommend you some places depending on what you want to eat or drink.
