What good Anime are people watching these days?? I never got into the Samurai X series but I just watched Samurai X Trust & Betrayal & it was just about the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Of course I love me some classic Cowboy Bebop & Last Exile. What series should I start next??

I didnt really like Samurai X, Cowboy Bebop or Last Exile so i dont know how alike our anime preferences are, but currently I am following Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Cross Game, 07-Ghost, Gintama & Bleach. If you enjoy the samurai theme, you might like Peace Maker & Samurai Deeper Kyo (which I very much enjoyed).

I have been meaning to get more into Samurai anime. I'll give Peace Maker/Samurai Deeper Kyo a try & report back what I think! Thanks.

Honestly I'm a bit new to anime so my taste needs a broader pallet before I can really tell you what it is I like.

if you want some good solid anime i'd suggest death note, personally though i liked the manga better but the anime version was still good, and then theres code geass, and bleach, claymore, hikaru no go, heroic age, witchblade, the valkyria chronicles, and wolf's rain. some people find wolf's rain to be a bit slow but i quite enjoyed it

I loved the Samurai 7 series! It was based on the classic 七人の侍 (Shichinin no Samurai, or "Seven Samurai", its English title), a wonderful 1954 film directed by Akira Kurosawa. In fact, if you haven't watched the movie already, I'd highly recommend that you do so, even before watching the 26-episode series. Although it's not essencial for understanding the anime, by watching the original black-and-white classic, you're going to be watching one of the finest samurai movies ever made.

By the way, the western The Magnificent Seven (1960) was also based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai...

Well, One Piece is beyond awesome... It's HILARIOUS and well-written and geared toward guys (but I totally love it too. It's constantly blowing me away).

I'd also love to suggest Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter which are my favorite animes, very close to my heart. Although HxH's anime really doesn't match up to the manga AT ALL. But it gets better.

But I guess based on what you've said you've liked... I'm sure you'd like Samurai Champloo. Which isn't all that Samurai-y but it's really entertaining and pretty short. You should definitely check it out. And FMA: Brotherhood, which someone else suggested, is a MUST.

And finally... You might like Gurren Lagann (it's really good, we watched it in my anime club) and Tales of the Abyss.

Happy watching~!
