Paul mentioned in the latest podcast a fledgling concept that I think has particular merit.
This is that Hitomi-Sensei could produce some low-cost DLC files of her reading vocabulary examples. Initially these would be as a direct adjunct to a certain book (so you'd need the book too) but even so I think this is an excellent idea.
As Paul-Sempai specifically requested feed-back, please feel free to add your comments and thoughts here. The more of us that express a positive interest then the more likely this germ of a plan will burst into fruitful life.
Thanks! This would absolutely be for the intermediates out there. It's all about how to express yourself beyond using simple "I like" or "I don't like" types of phrases. The book doesn't have an audio portion but contains a lot of written dialog examples, so my plan was to just ask Hitomi to read the vocabulary at the beginning of the lesson, then the example dialog with translations. She said the dialog in the book is very natural sounding and casual, so it's more appropriate for day-to-day life than a business Japanese course.
Right now this is all preliminary. We have to see if anyone is interested. If we get enough people, I'll set up a download service with a 3rd party digital delivery service.
Hmm. This is a really old discussion. I'm wondering if this idea ever took off? It sounds really interesting. I'm not any where near the intermediate level so I wouldn't be able to participate in it for quite a while. But I would love to have this to look forward to. But there may not be that many other intermediate learners either? Ah well, I've at least bookmarked that book so maybe I'll buy it as I progress with Japanese!
We're hoping to finally get things re-started in the next couple of months. I'm building a new studio at the moment and it's supposed to be finished by mid-November.
